Urban Vision has managed the renovation and refurbishment of the previously vacant Victoria Park gatehouse in Swinton, which now means it’s suitable for Armed Forces veterans to use as a drop in centre.
As part of our commitment to adding social value in the community, Urban Vision’s building maintenance team donated monies to the project as well as their time without charge, to project manage the renovation from start to finish and provide construction design management services.
The gatehouse, which had been disused up until completion of the refurbishment, was re-painted from green to RAF blue, as well as fitting new carpeting, storage heaters, doors, kitchen and built in cupboards.
The new gatehouse has brought a disused building back into use and is now being enjoyed by the veteran community.
Barry Pilkington, Partnership Director, said:
“Urban Vision has a long and proud track record of giving back to the communities it serves. This is a fine example of our dedicated staff donating time and advice to a fantastic and creative project, bringing a previously neglected facility back into use as a creative meeting space for our veterans to enjoy. A huge thanks to all involved”.
