On Friday 20th April, several of our technical teams contributed their time and skills at Broughton House to renovate the garden for the veterans and charity staff.
Works in the garden included jet washing the paving and raised planters, paving the path, erecting four benches, tables and an archway between the two flower beds, all planting work and implementing two containers with a trellis and a large sun umbrella.
Several team members also painted the walls inside Broughton House for the veterans to enjoy.
From the design, hard work from the team from Highway Services, through to the finishing touches on 3rd May 2018, the final work carried out totalled in staff donating 58.5 hours, involving 13 employees to the project with fantastic results.
There were also donations made by Salford City Council Landscape Framework contractors, Horticon, Groundwork Landscapes, Landscape Engineering and Idverde exceeding £1,000 including the planting, planters and trellis, arbor, seats and tables and the sun canopy.
The staff and residents at the home are delighted with the transformation and it will make a big difference to their quality of life over the next few years during the redevelopment of Broughton House.
Ty Platten, Broughton House’s Chief Executive, said:
