Our portfolio of business services falls into three main categories: planning, land and property; design services – architectural and engineering; and highways services and transportation. There is also a fourth service – business strategy and development – which acts as a support for our internal and external operations.

However, these categories do not tell the full story. At Urban Vision we work across many different and specialised service areas and can offer a genuine ‘one stop shop’ for our clients, drawing together the most appropriate expertise for each project. The benefit to our clients is dealing with one organisation, rather than a range of consultancies on different projects. The benefit for us, at Urban Vision, is the removal of the communications ‘silos’ of the traditional consultancy model – our architects sit alongside our planners and our engineers, enabling them to collaborate more effectively and understand the issues facing each service. The ultimate benefit to our clients’ being that challenges can be solved quickly and efficiently.

The main theme running across all of our service areas is the promotion of shared ideas and best practice. We work in an open environment and encourage individuals to work across projects alongside different service areas, widening their own personal experience and increasing opportunities for progression.

Planning, land and property
Covering consultancy, planning and building control, management and geological services, Urban Vision’s planning, land and property division offers comprehensive advice and guidance to public and private sector clients. Our team of 45 people, 16 of whom are qualified members of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), can assist clients with a wide range of solutions, including acquisitions and disposals, project management, regeneration and development, surveying, compulsory purchase, rating and project management to name but a few.  

Design services – architectural and engineering
Our design consultancy creates integrated solutions for a range of clients both in the private and public sector market. With a strong project management lead, we provide the following professional consultancy services: architecture, urban design, master planning, landscape architecture, planning and building control, highways design and maintenance, traffic and transport engineering, civil and structural engineering, and street and external lighting design. We also offer environmental assessment services; ensuring clients’ projects comply with the latest legislation, as well as advising on accreditation in Quality Assurance and industry standards of excellence. Under one roof, we offer a fully-integrated multi-disciplinary service, but services can also be commissioned individually.

Highways services and transportation
Split into three main areas of operation, our highways services and transportation teams oversee the management, maintenance, signage, parking, planning and development, civil and structural requirements of Salford’s highways network. The teams manage and maintain the road system, ensuring its safety for traffic and pedestrians, carry out all civil and structural services and manage road safety education schemes designed to reduce the casualties from road traffic accidents.
