Urban Vision Launch Business Wise Graduate Programme

Urban Vision, in conjunction with Salford University and Capita Symonds has launched a unique ‘Business Wise’ graduate programme, which aims to provide staff with the core business skills required to assist with their individual career development and meet employers’ needs.

The unique joint venture is one of the first of its kind in the UK and is typical of the partnership approach employed by Salford based Urban Vision, a multi-disciplinary organisation which combines the highest level of expertise from the public and private sectors in order to deliver an extensive range of development and regeneration services.

Key business skills taught on the course include effective management, commercial success, responsible business practice and leadership and empowerment.   The course is aimed at graduates who are ready to progress their career, as well as other experienced professionals without a degree.  Successful completion of the programme leads to a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Performance Management from the University of Salford.

Nine members of the Urban Vision team are participating in the two year course which will include a mix of theoretical and subject-based modules as well as a two days’ retreat camp in Snowdonia.

Ann-Marie Mather, Senior Human Resource Advisor at Urban Vision comments “We believe that the partnership approach employed in the delivery of the business wise initiative will deliver first-class results, effectively meeting the needs of both students and employers.   The development of sound business skills is crucial in today’s economic climate and the training available can only enhance our employees’ business acumen, complementing their existing experiences and abilities.”
