Charitable Support

We run a ‘Charity of The Year’ initiative whereby we appoint a new charity partner every two years and implement a calendar of fundraising events to support the work of local charitable organisations.

Our current charity partner is Wood Street Mission, as voted for by our employees. We began working in partnership with Wood Street Mission at the beginning of 2013 and are looking forward to developing a mutually beneficial partnership with the charity in order to raise awareness of their cause, as well as raising money through employee fundraising and corporate support.

We try and involve as many staff as possible in our charity work and have dedicated Charity Champions around the business who promote and encourage participation from staff at all levels. Our staff get involved with many different fundraising activities including weekly dress down days, raffles, cake sales, sporting events and even sponsored silences!! Several of our Charity Champions have also taken on more challenging pursuits including skydives, triathlons and coast to coast cycle rides.

Community Investment
Our Employee Volunteering Scheme was launched in Summer 2011 and provides all our permanent employees with the opportunity to get involved in one paid day per year to participate in local community projects. This initiative benefits not only links our business and the services we provide to the local community, but also allows us to donate our time, skills and financial resources to local community projects.

The initiative also provides our staff with the opportunity to use existing skills whilst developing new skills outside their working environment. We’re proud to be working in partnership with Salford Foundation, an organisation that engages with business and the wider community in shaping and delivering services – including significant volunteer support.

By making a meaningful contribution to our local communities this helps to improve their morale, motivating them and increasing our employee retention rate. It also demonstrates our local engagement and support, enhancing our reputation, which can help with the recruitment of potential new employees.
