Building

Covering new and existing buildings in the domestic, educational, leisure, commercial and industrial setting, Urban Vision’s Building Services team manages all aspects of building ¬– building design, building surveying, mechanical and electrical service maintenance, facilities ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ services management and responsive repairs ¬– on behalf of clients. The team offers full technical and cost support and advice, including ongoing maintenance and security contracts, feasibility studies and inspections, dilapidation surveys, mechanical and electrical consultancy and advice on compliance with legislation.

Committed to working collaboratively with our clients, the team aims to provide a service bespoke to individual client needs. With a range of construction professionals on hand at Urban Vision, including architects, chartered surveyors, mechanical and electrical engineers, CDM Coordinators and structural engineers, our building services team is resourced to see the project through from feasibility to completion, ensuring cost efficiencies and compliance with legislation from the very outset.

The team has been involved in a number of Urban Vision’s flagship regeneration projects on behalf of Salford City Council, including the following:
  • Seedley and Langworthy – provision of mechanical and electrical design and contract management within a residential refurbishment programme
  • Quaywatch – security service and management of community CCTV throughout the Salford Quays area
  • Salford Schools and Corporate Buildings – compilation and maintenance of a comprehensive school and corporate building asset database to ensuring effective and efficient use of resources to maintain, improve or replace school buildings across Salford. Including delivery of revenue and capital projects and conformity to statutory legislation, in particular legionella, water regulations and asbestos management
  • Fire Risk Assessments – delivery of initial survey and subsequent fire risk assessments to schools and corporate buildings
  • Irlam Swimming Pool – from initial feasibility and funding bid through to contract management of works for the alteration and refurbishment of Irlam Swimming Pool
