Bridge Works

Urban Vision’s Bridge Works team offers a comprehensive service in all aspects of the maintenance and design of bridges, retaining walls and subways.

A significant part of our work includes the management of Salford City Council’s bridge stock, including the management of two lifting bridges over the Manchester Ship Canal. However, through a fully-integrated approach to bridge works and drawing on an extensive expert-base of engineers, architects and surveyors, we are also able to offer the following services to our growing private and public sector client base:

• Design, drawing, contract documents, bills of quantity, site inspection and certification of accounts for new bridges and bridge maintenance schemes
• Load carrying assessment of bridges and other highway structures
• Principal and general inspections of bridges and other highway structures
• Management and interpretation of ground investigations

We design bridges in steel, reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, and timber, with maintenance projects including painting, concrete repairs, parapet upgrades, and anti slip surfacing of footbridges.
