Drainage works

The Drainage Works team carries out drainage maintenance services on behalf of Salford City Council and other external clients. Our contracts include the cleaning and maintenance of approximately 55,000 road gullies on approximately 800km of adopted highways. We also provide maintenance to 55 highway culvert trash screens on various ‘non main’ and ‘main river’ watercourses in conjunction with the Environment Agency.

Working in conjunction with the local water supplier, we undertake works on private drainage problems, such as blockages, collapses, flooding and pollution, and consult with the Environment Agency on matters of land drainage.  

In addition, we offer a service to private clients for the emptying and disposal of waste from private drainage systems and sceptic tanks, and the regular inspection and cleaning of brookcourses.

Employing tracking technology, our gully-emptying units also collect inventory information on the surface water drainage network.
