Urban Vision were invited to the prestigious opening event at Orford Jubilee Park on 17th May, which was opened by the Queen as part of her Diamond Jubilee tour.
Orford Jubilee Park is the biggest Olympic legacy site outside London. It brings together under one roof, a leisure centre including sports hall, two swimming pools, training facilities, a library, primary care medical facilities and treatment rooms, educational provisions and community facilities, including a new Children’s Centre and specialist adult and social care services.
This project is the first of its kind in the UK of which Urban Vision have undertaken a lead planning consultancy role, working closely with a multi disciplinary project team to deliver this major integrated mixed use development on behalf of Warrington Borough Council.
The scheme represents the culmination of a fifteen year project to develop a flagship community, leisure and neighbourhood hub for Warrington and is designed as a major regeneration initiative for the Orford Park area of the town. Urban Vision has been heavily involved in the preparation of the outline planning application for the development and also have had responsibility for the preparation of an application for the access road. We provided planning advice to the client and the project team throughout the process.
